Opening a new term deposit in the BNZ app

You can open a term deposit^ account in the BNZ app or Internet Banking^.

Open a term deposit using the menu

1. Log in to the BNZ app and select the menu icon (three horizontal lines in top left corner).
2. Select Apply now. 
3. Select KiwiSaver and investments. 
4. Select Open a term deposit.
   Note: if you get an error message, or don’t see the option to add an account, it may be because you don’t meet the requirements. Call us on 0800 275 269  and we can help.
5. Enter the amount you want to invest, choose the account you want the funds to come from and select Next.
6. Choose the term you want to invest for and select Next.
7. Choose how you want your interest paid and select Next.
8. Check the details on screen are correct and select Open. Your term deposit will be opened immediately.

Open a term deposit on the Accounts screen

1. Log in to the BNZ app.
2. Select Add account on the Accounts screen.
3. You won’t be able to give your account a nickname. 
4.  Select Account type and change the selection to Term Deposit.
5. Select Open a term deposit.

6. Enter the amount you want to invest, choose the account you want the funds to come from and select Next.
7. Choose the term you want to invest for and select Next.
8. Choose how you want your interest paid and select Next.
9. Check the details on screen are correct and select Open. Your term deposit will be opened immediately.
