Registering for Internet Banking
There are three ways to register for Internet Banking, online by using your email, calling us, or visiting a branch.
Steps to register for Internet Banking online using your email
You’ll need:
- access to the email address we have on file for you
- your nine-digit access number (found on the back of your BNZ Eftpos, debit, or credit card).
- Click Register now.
- Enter in your access number.
- Enter in the email address that we have on file for you.
- Check your inbox for an email with the subject line BNZ verification code, from bnz_mobile_banking@bnz.co.nz. Open the email and find the six-digit verification code. You may need to check your spam and junk folders. If you still can’t see the email, click Resend code.
- Enter in the six-digit verification code on the Enter verification code screen.
- Choose a password and enter it into the New password field.
Verifying your identity using the BNZ app
We recommend downloading the BNZ app to verify your identity alongside your access number and password when logging into Internet Banking. Once you’re set up, use the BNZ app to complete two-step authentication.
Verifying your identity by calling us or visiting a branch
If you don’t have a compatible mobile device such as a smartphone, iPad, or tablet, or you can’t access the BNZ app, you can verify your identify by calling us on 0800 275 269 or +64 4 931 8209 from overseas (international toll charges apply), or visiting any branch.
