Setting up a direct debit

When you set up a direct debit, the organisation or business you’re paying will let you know the amount and date of each upcoming payment, and it will go out of your account automatically.

That means you don’t have to make a manual payment each time. You just need to make sure you have the funds in your account on the day the payment is due, to avoid late or missed payment.

How to set up a direct debit

Contact the organisation you’re paying and they will help you set up your direct debit. Some organisations can do this over the phone or online, and others will send you a direct debit form to fill in and return.

You can cancel a direct debit at any time.
