Processing times for receiving payments

Note: From 27 May 2023, all electronic payments will be processed 7 days a week between all participating New Zealand banks, including public holidays. Find out more

Payments you receive from other BNZ customers

One off, direct credit and bill payments, which are scheduled for today and made to you by people or companies who also have BNZ accounts, will be processed immediately.

Automatic payments made to you from other BNZ customers will be paid into your account on the due date once processed.

Payments you receive from other banks

Direct credits, bill payments and social welfare payments (e.g. pensions, benefits, working for families, etc.) will be paid into your account as soon as we receive them from another bank.
