Notification of BNZ KiwiSaver Scheme transition to the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 (FMCA)

Effective from 5 September 2016

The BNZ KiwiSaver Scheme (the Scheme) opted into the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 (FMCA) regime with effect from 5 September 2016 (the effective date). From the effective date, the requirements of the FMCA will apply to the Scheme.

The following documents provide important information about the BNZ KiwiSaver Scheme:

Notification to FMA on Derivatives

Effective from 1 December 2015

BNZ has notified the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) that it has elected for the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 to apply to BNZ’s regulated offers of Interest Rate Swaps, Forward Exchange Contracts, Foreign Exchange Swaps and Currency Options (Vanilla Options and Structured Products, namely Currency Protection Transactions, Variable Forward Participator Contracts and Variable Forward Range Contracts) made after 1 December 2015.

30 November 2015 will be the last date on which offers of these products will be made under the Securities Act 1978.

Notification to FMA on Derivatives

BNZ has notified the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) that it has elected for the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 to apply to its regulated offers of Interest Rate Swaps, Forward Exchange Contracts, Foreign Exchange Swaps and Currency Options (Vanilla Options and Structured Products) made after 1 December 2015.

Notification to FMA on Flexi Deposits and Floating Deposits

Effective from 16 June 2015

BNZ has notified the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) that it has elected for the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 to apply to its offers of Flexi Deposits and Floating Deposits made after 16 June 2015.

Notification to FMA on Term Deposits and Dual Currency Deposits

Effective from 1 December 2014

BNZ has notified the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) that it has elected for the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 to apply to its offers of Term Deposits and Dual Currency Deposits made after 1 December 2014.
