  • When you’re travelling overseas, we recommend you take a small amount of the local currency for things like taxis, coffees and tipping
  • Remember, if your cash is lost or stolen it can’t be replaced

Travellers’ cheques1

  • We sell American Express travellers’ cheques in Australian, Canadian and United States dollars, British pounds, Euro and Japanese yen
  • These can be cashed at any one of thousands of American Express member banks or outlets world-wide
  • They’re insured for their full value against loss or theft. The American Express Refund Centre handles prompt refunds for loss and theft within 24 hours of it being reported

As a BNZ customer you can use a Flexi Debit Visa card to access the money in your accounts from overseas, and Internet Banking to manage your money while you’re away.
