KiwiSaver update for agribusiness employers

KiwiSaver

We’ve made signing up with a KiwiSaver provider nice and easy
From 1 July 2007, all employers are required to make KiwiSaver available to their new employees* and, on request, to their existing employees. So here’s some information to help you sign up your business with a KiwiSaver provider.

* Automatic enrolment in KiwiSaver excludes temporary employees on a contract of 28 days or less, and casual agricultural workers.  Please refer to www.kiwisaver.govt.nz  (employer section) for more information.

Choosing a preferred provider could save you time and hassle
Appointing a preferred KiwiSaver provider for your workplace means all employees** automatically enrolled into KiwiSaver will be allocated that provider. It could really simplify things for you and your employees. For instance:

  • You’ll only have to deal with information from one KiwiSaver provider, and questions about one provider from your employees
  • You’ll ensure your employees are provided with consistent information from one source

** Note – if you choose a preferred KiwiSaver provider for your business, employees can still select another KiwiSaver provider if they wish.

We believe AMP will be the best choice for a preferred KiwiSaver provider
More New Zealand employers have decided to invest their employees’ retirement savings with AMP than with any other company. AMP is one of only six Government-appointed KiwiSaver default providers.

Go through to the AMP website and apply online
It’s easy to make AMP the preferred provider for your workplace. Once you’ve filled out the application form, AMP will then send you an information pack so you can provide KiwiSaver to your employees.

Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) distributes the AMP KiwiSaver Scheme (Scheme) to its Agribusiness customers who are employers and receives an access fee from AMP Services (NZ) Limited (AMP) in respect of employees of the employer who become members of the Scheme. This access fee is paid out of the administration fee referred to in the Scheme's Investment Statement. BNZ is not a promoter of the AMP KiwiSaver Scheme.  Investments in the Scheme are not guaranteed.
